Assistant Manager (1-year Contract)

The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing OHK’s external funding projects with a particular focus on Ethnic Minorities education and vocational training programmes and consolidating different resources while giving support to other work of the team if appropriate. He/She will liaise with other staff in Hong Kong
Programme Unit and other units.


  • Assist in the formulation of development strategy and concrete action plans.

  • Explore potential projects to address social needs in line with OHK’s focuses and prepare funding applications.

  • Support Hong Kong Programme Manager in managing and executing external funding projects.

  • Coordinate meetings with funders, governments and other external stakeholders and build rapport.

  • Prepare progress reports and meeting minutes and provide ad hoc administrative support.


  • Degree holder, with at least 8 years of relevant work experience (social work or education field preferred) in which a minimum of 3 years at supervisory level.

  • Proven solid experience in project management, strong organisation skills and meticulous.

  • Understanding of the formal education system and policy.

  • Knowledge of Ethnic Minorities poverty and education issues.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
