Assistant Manager, Partnerships & Donor Engagement

The Assistant Manager, Partnerships & Donor Engagement is a new role. You will be a dynamic and motivated individual.You are an entrepreneurial and experienced professional who is excited about developing a sustainable income generation strategy across a variety of streams.

You will have proven experience in successful fundraising campaigns. You can demonstrate strong influencing skills, the confidence to implement and develop creative fundraising strategies, be able to demonstrate excellent stewardship, have a solid track record of building relationships and being collaborative across multiple stakeholder groups.

As Assistant Manager, Partnerships & Donor Engagement, you will be responsible for managing partnerships with key donors and supporters, maximising all potential income streams and seeking new opportunities to work with corporates, major donors and foundations.You will drivecreative and innovative fundraisingstrategies,includingcampaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with key stakeholders.You will monitor income, expenditure and resources, making sure that each partnership meets and exceeds income and non-financial targets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide excellent stewardship to all donors including corporate partners, major donors and foundations.

  • Work in collaboration with the wider team in the development, implementation and regular review offundraising strategies to encompass current and potential income streams including corporates, major donors and foundations.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of income, including the development of new funding sources and multi-year partnership opportunities.

  • Grow corporate income through event sponsorship, partnership and packages.

  • Prepare sponsorship contracts and ensure sponsors’benefits are fulfilled by Habitat.

  • Prepare presentations, proposals, plans and reports as necessary.

Note: The role, whilst clearly defined, is part of a fast-moving and evolving organisation and as such, the related responsibilities may need to adapt as the team grows. Any changes will be discussed with the individual but should be recognised as part of the exciting environment within which Habitat HK operates

Qualifications, Skills& Experience:


  • Degree holder in relevant discipline

  • Minimum 5years of experience working with a non-profit organisation, preferably within fundraising, business development or donor stewardship.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to ensure effective engagement of donors and external stakeholders.

  • Experience of using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.

  • Proficiency in PC operations (MS based applications. English and Chinese word processing).


  • A good understanding of commercial and financial principles to improve performance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of international development and programming.

  • Experience of events management.
