BEYOND VISION INTERNATIONAL (BVI) is a not-for-profit organization that aims to enhance the quality of life of the visually impaired by enabling them to actively participate in the arts and culture and stimulate their creativity and learning. We do this by providing access to visual information through innovative tools, training and empowering experiences.
With the growth of our organization, we are looking for a Chief Operating Officer(COO).This is a senior level role tha trequires a dynamic, mature individual with solid leadership experience, a passion for the work of Beyond Vision International, and an understanding of and commitment to the visually impaired community.
This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The COO will be an integral part of the organization’s Executive Team which is responsible for its strategic direction and sustainability. Overseeing a small operations team, the COO will work across the organizationto deliver their responsibilities.
As a key member of the Executive Team, the COO will be responsible for the following:
•Contributing to the overall strategic direction and sustainability of Beyond Vision International as a not-for-profit organization.
•Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and other stakeholders
•Continuously learning about topics and practices related to the organization’s mission and provide input to its thought leadership and communications content
•Authentically and effectively representing the organization within the non profit and disability sectors
•As and when required, servingas the Acting CEO.
Fundraising, marketing and communications
•Developing and overseeing implementation of fundraising strategy and plans
•Supervising the marketing and communications function
•Supporting the CEO in preparation and management of grant applications
•Proposing and building improvements to marketing, communications and fundraising systems, referencing local and global best nonprofit practices, and leveraging available pro bono and low bono external resources
•Working with the CEO, formulating and driving the organization’s people and talent management strategy, with the aim of buildinga highly engaged and professional team and workplace culture that is empowering, inclusive and supportive.
•Leading and managing full spectrum of HR functions including manpower planning and budgeting, recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, administration, performance appraisals and employee engagement.
Finance,Operations and Technology
•Supervising Finance function (comprising one support staff) on financial management and control, including preparation of monthly reporting for the Board, annual financial audit process and annual planning/budgeting.
•Driving organizational effectiveness, including continuous improvement of and automation of operational processes and workflows, and formulation/refinement of organizational policies.
•Owning the organization’s technology and workplace infrastructure plan to ensure productivity, efficiency, and security
Governance, Legal and Compliance
•Driving corporate governance activities, including scheduling and coordinating board meetings in Hong Kong and meeting regulatory/compliance reporting requirements.
•Overseeing the development and maintenance of the organization’s legal agreements, working with legal firms which offer pro-bono legal services.

•Bachelor’s Degree or higher in public administration, business, or a related field. Applicants with a background in social work, design or psychology are also encouraged to apply.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in communicating and influencing at all levels both internally and externally. Required fluency in Cantonese and English
•A minimum of 8 years of work experience, with demonstrated leadership and management effectiveness, ideally, in a non-profit organizationor foundation.
•Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and similar platforms.
Salary will be commensurate with the relevant experience of the successful candidate.
