Design Trust, an innovative non-profit organisation, based in Hong Kong, is looking for a Deputy Director, a self-motivated, organized leader to drive and lead the smooth operations of the organization and take responsibilities within the policies and values established by the Executive Director and Boardof Directors, and the aims and activities of the mission and vision. Working closely with the Executive Director, the candidate should be a leader, an enthusiastic learner, detailed oriented, and excellent organizer with successful track record in business planning and operations of cultural and institutional organization, leading teams and financial acumen.
Reporting and working closely with the Executive Director, you will drive, support and deliver on all aspects of operations,fundraising ,institutional structures with fiduciary responsibilities at the highest level of governance.He/she should be a self-starter, open mindset, with an interest in supporting values of design for social good, cultural and urban innovations, and importance of design education and research.
We are looking for someone with the vision, energy and experience to lead all the operations of Design Trust, in its next stage of development. The Deputy Director will provide leadership and support together with outstanding operational to fundraising skill, business planning to work in partnership with our talented team to champion the best of architecture, design, education, programming to diverse audiences in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area region and internationally.
We want our Deputy Director to have the following experiences, responsibilities, and skills:
Align with all DESIGN TRUST’s policies and values established by the Executive Director and Board of Directors, and the aims and activities
Plan, develop and deliver and execute a programme of grant projects, events and activities, which meets DESIGN TRUST’s values and objectives, in conjunction with the Executive Directorcreative and curatorial leadership and strategic direction.
Ensure that DESIGN TRUST’s operations meet the financial goals, and other fundraising objectives
Create and sustain a robust management structure with clear delineation of responsibilities.
Lead all the CRM/Database management and adhering to data privacy regulations;
Lead all work plan strategies including budgets, projected incomes and tracking monthly budgets;
Report regularly to the Executive Directoron DESIGN TRUST’s activities, operations and management.
Ensure that the organizational culture promotes high standards of governance, ethical practices and social responsibility
Prepare design presentation materials, proposals, reports and other confidential documents.
Be a strategic planner with sound business-planning skills, including financial/risk management and an entrepreneurial, commercially astute and innovative approach to income generation.
Fluency in spoken and written English, and Chinese is required. Strongly preferred with fluent spoken and written Mandarin Chinese/ Putonghua as a plus. Interest in the Design Industry, cultural and creative ecosystem of Hong Kong, Greater Bay area, Shanghai and Beijing to Asian regions is recommendedwith knowledge and alignment with DESIGN TRUST core values.
Candidate’s with Master Level Degree academic qualification is preferred and highly recommended for this post and minimum 10 years of work experience in a professional field is preferred.
