At ConnectedGroup, we are working in partnership with The Nesbitt Centre – an organization empowering adults with learning disabilities through vocational education and social enterprises, to recruit their Head of Special Educational Needs.
Reporting to the Executive Director, and leading a team of facilitators, the Head of Special Educational Needs will be responsible for driving strategic, financial, and operational management for special education needs services in all aspects of the business (service development, provision, stability and quality, and evaluation).
Develop and implement a comprehensive SEN curriculum, IEPs with goals and objectives aligned to best practice – meeting learners wishes and aspirations through individual student profile development.
Responsible for the performance management of SEN services including the identification of service objectives, resource allocation, service planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching, learning, learner achievement and progression
Provide a stimulating and accessible learning environment, using multiple approaches to deliver and reinforce session content and skills – through proper research of learning (including e-learning) opportunities
Lead, motivate and manage the staff team creating a supportive but demanding environment achieving excellence in service delivery
Collaborate with staff, parents, helpers to facilitate learner behaviour management meetings and create effective behaviour management plans
Assist with overseeing the integration of learners into TNC Social Enterprises.
Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of any changes to student behaviour, achievements and milestones, well-being and the daily programme.
Attend external events and support the day-to-day organizational requirements as needed.
Degree qualified or above in Special Education, Psychology or similar
5 years + working in special needs field.
Leadership/management experience in an SEN / educational setting.
Knowledge of or experience in behaviour management.
Report writing and interpretation of using clinical language.
English language proficiency both verbal and written within a professional setting.
Cantonese or Mandarin desirable.
