The Zubin Foundation runs an Ethnic Minority Well-being Centre (The Well-being Centre), offering free counselling service to the South Asian community in Hong Kong. We are currently looking for qualified counsellor to deliver counselling service to our clientsin Nepali.
The selected counsellorwill be offering counselling to clients according to The Well-being Centre’s practice unde rthe training and supervision of the Lead Counsellor of the Well-being Centre. The individual will work in acollaborative and professionalenvironment of a fast-growing NGOas well as contributing to the betterment of Hong Kong’s ethnic minority population.
The selected counsellor will be working on a case basis and the working hours is flexible. The individual is expected to work at The Well-being Centre locations in Kwai Fong and/or Kwun Tong, or we are open to discuss if the selected counsellor would like to see clients at his/her private practice location.
Key Responsibilities to include:
•Providing counselling to individuals according to The Well-being Centre practice
•Attend weekly meeting to go through cases with the Lead Counsellor
•Write up the notes after each counselling session
•Report any potential risks of clients immediately to Lead Counsellor and follow-up with clients after sessions if necessary
The individual MUST:
•Have an educational background in psychology, counselling or a related field.
•Be fluent in English and Nepali(Hindi is a plus).
•Be trained and familiar with using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
•Experience in providing counselling to children would be an advantage.
•Have very good listening skills.
•Be able to provide on the spot empathy to callers in distress.
•Be able to convey a non-judgmental attitude and politeness.
•Be self-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
•Be able to multitask with good time management skills.
•Be proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular; Excel.
