Make-A-Wish Hong Kong was registered in Hong Kong as a charity (registration number: 91/5366) in 1998 and became a member of Make-A-Wish Foundation International, the world’s largest wish-granting organization with 39 affiliates serving over 50 countries and territories nowadays. Collectively we have realized more than 500,000 wishes worldwide since 1980.

Our mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses aged between 3 and 17, in Hong Kong and Macau, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

​Reporting to the Assistant Executive Manager (AEM), this is an exciting role in the service team with broad exposure. You will primarily support the AEM to manage the strategic programs for children patients and staff in the hospital as well as major children’s activities. At the same time, you will lead the development and management of volunteers to support quality hospital and wish granting services of the organization.

  • Work closely with and support the Assistant Executive Manager (AEM) to ensure smooth daily operation of hospital programs, quality goals delivery and reporting

  • Plan and execute online or offline programs for patients and staff of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, including weekly workshops and ward visits, and co-ordinate with various partners, vendors and volunteers

  • Work with AEM to build a volunteering system for sustainable growth of the organization

  • Lead the development and engagement of volunteers to support quality services; recruit, co-ordinate, and engage volunteers for various programs on regular basis

  • Plan and execute Kids For Wish Kids programs and children’s activities

  • Prepare program marketing & communication materials

  • Assist in wish granting services: creating life-changing wishes through delivery of quality wish journeys and engagement of community partners and volunteers


  • Outgoing and possesses strong passion in children charity’s work

  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Detailed-minded, ability to multi-task, creative, and a problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to build rapport and interact well with people from diverse backgrounds, e.g. children, caretakers, volunteers and professionals

  • University degree in social science, or related disciplines

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

  • Solid experience in NGO service management and volunteer management in hospital settings strongly preferred

  • Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese and English

  • Flexible to work over time, or work on occasional weekends and public holidays (with compensation leave) as required

  • Experience in graphic design tools and basic video editing is a plus
