ImpactHK is a non-profit that provides the homeless in Hong Kong with friendship, food,shelter, education and jobs. It believes in the power of kindness in tackling the pressing problem of homelessness in Hong Kong. Every day ImpactHK is on the streets supporting the homeless with essentials, building trust and friendships. These friendships open doors towards housing, job creation, sports, counselling, mentorship and nutrition programmes which empower our beneficiaries with pride, health and happiness. It is an innovative and dynamic organisation that has helped more than 150 people into shelter in just three years and supported many more with employment opportunities. It has a core team of eight staff,as well as employing eight formerly homeless individuals full time.
The Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in the growth of ImpactHK and has a direct and tangible impact on helping the homeless in Hong Kong. You will work closely with the CEO and the Head of Partnerships and Development to ensure the sustainability of programmes and services and oversee their day to day running.
Organising and overseeing existing programmes and services in accordance with the mission and goals of ImpactHK and implement new ones
Document and report on programmes and services
Set up new policies and organisational structure as ImpactHK grows
Develop a budget and operating plan for programmes and services and work with ImpactHK accountant to oversee financial procedures. Collaborate with Fundraising to allocate funds to specific programmes and services
Management and supervision of five-strong programme team, including an account clerk
Oversee management and running of ImpactHK programme centres and sites. Manage incidents and crises as they arise and support programme team to trouble-shoot across ImpactHK centres
Managing onboarding of new beneficiaries, including residential and community helper contracts. Approve referrals of beneficiaries to new programmes and step in if someone needs to be asked to leave a programme
Manage HR processes, including leave, recruitment of new staff and employee contracts
Ensuring the voice of the beneficiaries is heard by senior management and the board
Handle special projects, ad hoc and other duties as required
Minimum Bachelors degree or Masters degree in related field
Experience in establishing, documenting and running business processes in a start-up environment
Experience in financial modelling, planning and forecasting
Compassionate and empathetic to the situation of the homeless and the underprivileged in Hong Kong
Good knowledge or experience of the social sector is an advantage
Proven experience in project or people management
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as a proactive team player
Creative and innovative approach to problem solving and communication
Excellent English and Cantonese communication skills (oral and written)
Competent MS Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using Salesforce an advantage
