Project Officer (2-year contract)
The Project Officer is responsible for the externally funded project - “Start from Beginning - Chinese Supporting Scheme for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students in Kindergartens Extension Project”. The Project aims to enhance the Chinese Proficiency of NCS students and ensure smooth transition to Primary. He/She will be responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of program helping NCS parents and their children to transit smoothly from K3 to P1 education.
Develop resource pack, program plan and implement activities with partners on the transition from K3 to P1 education for participating students and parents.
Act as a key contact point responsible for liaising with schools and parents.
Support budget reporting and administration work of the project.
Monitor and evaluate program outcomes.
Consolidate program experience and disseminate good practices to other NGOs and educational groups.
Develop promotion plan for the project, use various online and offline platforms particularly the social media to promote the project.
Carry out advocacy research and/or campaigns relating to NCS education or other aspects.
Degree holder, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience (education or social work experience preferred)
Solid experience in project management and organization skills with great attention to details
Experience in designing and implementing social and education activities for kindergarten school students
Understanding of the formal education system
Knowledge of ethnic minority poverty and education issues
Good communication skills and fluent in spoken and written both English and Chinese
Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
