Make-A-Wish Hong Kong was registered in Hong Kong as a charity (registration number: 91/5366) in 1998 and became a member of Make-A-Wish Foundation International, the world’s largest wish-granting organization with 39 affiliates serving over 50 countries and territories nowadays. Collectively we have realized more than 500,000 wishes worldwide since 1980.
Our mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses aged between 3 and 17, in Hong Kong and Macau, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Responsibilities
Our Hong Kong office is now looking for a wish assistant officer to support the Wish Journey, from wish acquisition to design and delivery, in Hong Kong and Macau. This role reports to the Wish Manager and its responsibilities will include but not necessarily be limited to the following areas:
Assist in delivering quality Wish Journey for each Wish Child, delivering the magical power of a wish come true
Maintain an updated record and prepare relevant documentation for Wishes
Support various children’s activities for Wish Children
Assist in volunteer program
Interact with various stakeholders including children, their caretakers, internal teams and external parties, including healthcare professionals, volunteers, and wish granting partners to ensure a quality Wish Journey for each Wish Child
Maintain working knowledge of policies, guidelines, resources and sponsors as they relate to wish granting and elements that would impact wish service delivery
Be a highly effective team player in the organization with creativity, enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Strong passion in children charity’s work
University degree
Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in NGO services, children education or event management
Ability to work independently, multi-tasked and result-oriented
Commitment to continuous improvement to drive for operational excellence
Well-organized and creative with excellent communication skills
Fluency in verbal and written English and Chinese
Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management
This is a full-time, 2-year contract appointment. Subject to organizational needs and satisfactory job performance, there could be potential for renewal or change to a permanent position.
