We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of our organization and social enterprises. You will play a key role in ensuring transparency, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support our mission.
Reporting to:
Executive Director / Senior Accountant
Direct reports
: Currently 4 people (2 full time clerical staff, 2 part time accountants)
Type:
Full-time OR Part-time (3 or 4 days a week, to be agreed)
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for the NGO and its social enterprises
2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
3. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
4. Handle accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
5. Ensure compliance with Hong Kong accounting standards and NGO reporting requirements
6. Liaise with auditors, donors, and regulatory bodies
7. Support grant applications and donor reporting with financial data
8. Assist in financial strategy and sustainability planning
Requirements
· Supports TNC’s mission and vision, passion for working for the charitable sector
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in NGO or social enterprise settings (an advantage)
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
· Strong understanding of Hong Kong financial regulations and tax compliance
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment
· Good communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and spoken
