Communications Officer II (2-year Contract, renewable)
[Ref.: FCU/COII/25/02]
This position will be responsible for supporting the agency’s branding, communications, and fundraising initiatives which include drafting and translating bilingual content across multiple platforms, managing media relations, coordinating events, and contributing to fundraising events such as Oxfam Trailwalker and Oxfam TowerRun. Also, s/he involves administrative support and cross-team collaboration to ensure the smooth delivery of departmental goals.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in implementing branding initiatives, communication strategies, and fundraising campaigns.
• Create and translate impactful bilingual content which includes press releases, social media posts, presentations, annual reports, leaflets, mailings and website content. Ensure all content aligns with the agency’s brand voice and engages its target audience across platforms.
• Handle public and media enquiries, arrange interviews, and coordinate networking functions.
• Assist in planning and executing events, including press conferences, community engagement activities, large-scale fundraising campaigns (e.g., Oxfam Trailwalker and Oxfam TowerRun).
• Perform administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
• Work closely with team members and contribute to cross-functional projects to drive agency goals.
• Any other tasks assigned by Department/Unit head.
Requirements:
• Degree holder in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in communications-related industries and preferably within the NGO or social impact sector. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Communications Assistant.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal staff, external partners, volunteers, and media contacts.
• Familiarity with basic design principles (Canva and Photoshop) and communications tools software (e.g. content management systems, and social media platforms) is a plus.
• Excellent command in spoken and written English & Chinese including Putonghua.
• Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
• Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
