Communications Officer II
(1-year contract, renewable) Ref.: DIR/COII/25/01/R4G
Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation and Media Relations:
- Coordinate and implement the organization’s communication program plans and activities
- Create engaging content for offline and online media (press releases, articles, posts etc.) that align with the organization’s brand guidelines and resonate with the target audience
- Assist in managing external media related parties for specific projects, trips or communication activities.
2. Event Coordination & Logistics:
- Assist in planning and executing events, including press conferences, community engagement activities, large-scale fundraising campaigns (e.g., Oxfam Trailwalker and Oxfam TowerRun).
- Recruit and onboard volunteers/participants.
- Source venues, manage logistics and support day-of operations.
3. Collaboration and Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for content creation for various communications channels, both online and offline.
- Prepare drafts for communication materials, including press releases, reports and presentations
- Maintain contact databases and provide general administrative support.
4. Handle ad hoc tasks assigned by Department/Unit head as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field with at least 3 years’ relevant working experience. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Communications Assistant.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal staff, external partners, volunteers, and media contacts.
- Familiarity with basic design principles (Canva and Photoshop) and communications tools software (e.g. content management systems, and social media platforms) is a plus.
- Excellent command in spoken and written English & Chinese including Putonghua.
- Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
- Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
