At ConnectedGroup, we are supporting an International Non-profit organization within the humanitarian field, in the search for their Director of Development (DoD)**.

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, and Executive Director, the DoD will be responsible for leading a sizeable team (20+ people), and strategizing, implementing, controlling and enhancing fundraising campaigns, projects and events. 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long-term fundraising strategies that ensure sustainable and diversified income streams.
  • Translate strategic priorities into annual action plans with measurable KPIs.
  • Contribute to overall organizational strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the fundraising department to achieve ambitious revenue and donor engagement goals.
  • Oversee donor services, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and philanthropic networks.
  • Represent the organization externally at high-profile events and internally on global fundraising platforms.
  • Direct the use of CRM systems and analytics to strengthen donor retention and acquisition.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and integration of data across multiple fundraising channels.
  • Use insights from analytics to forecast performance and guide decision-making.
  • Manage fundraising budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Supervise external agencies and suppliers to guarantee efficiency and quality of service.
  • Monitor compliance with audit standards and financial governance requirements.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop staff to build a high-performing fundraising team.
  • Set clear objectives and accountability frameworks for team members.
  • Actively participate in international fundraising collaborations, contributing to global initiatives and knowledge exchange.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, marketing, or business development, including management of large teams.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising practices and donor engagement strategies; regional experience in Asia is advantageous.
  • Experience working with major donors and securing significant pledges.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analyze complex data, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, including public speaking to senior audiences.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Background in the non-profit or humanitarian sector is desirable.
