Role Overview
The Marketing and Communications Officer will play a vital role to:
- support Feeding Hong Kong to enhance our communications and strengthen our public presence.
- coordinate and support our marketing initiatives, social media engagement and events to amplify our mission to save food and deliver food security in Hong Kong.
- support our fundraising efforts, including fostering relationships with our valued donors and partners.
Key responsibilities
Communications and Marketing
- Support the creation and distribution of content for social media, newsletters and the website.
- Support with media enquiries and outreach.
- Assist in the translation of materials.
- Prepare promotional materials for events and initiatives.
- Prepare monthly reports on communication and fundraising activities and outcomes.
Event Support
- Help organise and coordinate activities to raise food, funds and awareness e.g. talks, booths, food drives and festive campaigns.
- Provide on-site support during events, ensuring smooth execution and engagement.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to maximise event impact.
- Support with volunteer activities for key partners and donors.
Partnerships and Fundraising
- Assist in the development and implementation of food and fundraising activities including grants, events and campaigns.
- Support the preparation of proposals, presentations and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of donor and partner information and fundraising activities.
- Track and monitor grant deadlines, deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to gather data and insights for reporting and storytelling.
Accountabilities
- Be accountable and report to Partnerships and Development Manager.
- Work with volunteers and interns when needed.
Experience, skills and knowledge
General:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management or a related field.
- Speak and write fluent English and Cantonese.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, fundraising or partner management preferred.
- Fresh graduates will be considered.
Experience of:
- Working proficiency in social media platforms and content creation;
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment.
Able to:
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities;
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships;
- Passion for Feeding Hong Kong’s mission and the communities we serve;
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Knowledge of:
- Experience using CRM and CMS platforms; knowledge of Salesforce and Canva a plus;
- High level of expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
