Job Purpose
The Programme Officer is responsible for the planning, implementation and enhancement of several of the Foundation’s programmes and events, including Croucher Symposium, Foundation Day Dinner, Croucher Summer Courses, Croucher Advanced Study Institutes and conferences.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be passionate about all aspects of customer experience, including digital. Our programmes operate in multi-year cycles, we are looking for an individual who is able to construct programmes over the longer term.
We work in partnership with leading higher education institutions and research organisations. You will need to be comfortable with communicating with stakeholders at multiple levels.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Project Management
· Manage the strategic planning and delivery of programmes, including project design, scheduling, and logistics.
· Liaise with academic partners, speakers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
· Oversee on-site management for academic meetings, symposiums, and exhibitions.
· Take ownership of and enhance digital platforms for grants programmes and events, improving user journeys and experience.
Grant Scheme Management
· Support the grants management cycle for scientific exchange schemes, including updating the online application system, processing applications, and tracking reports.
· Evaluate the impact of grant programmes including stakeholder surveys and detailed analysis.
· Write reports and maintain organised records of applications.
Partnerships & Finance
· Work with colleagues to develop and manage international partnerships and projects with leading universities and research institutions.
· Support the Head of Grants in the financial administration of the grant schemes, including budget management, monitoring expenditure, and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Experience in programme or event management, particularly with academic meetings, symposiums, or conferences.
· Experience in digital product design, implementation, and customer journey optimisation.
Skills & Competencies
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and written Chinese is desirable.
· Strong organisational skills, including planning, time management, and administration.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
· Digital proficiency in using and managing digital platforms to enhance user engagement in grants and event management
