CantoGather is a Christian-affiliated Hong Kong charity working to form inclusive school communities through language and intercultural education. We work inside Chinese-medium primary schools, where many non-Chinese students and families face barriers to full participation in school life. Through small-group Cantonese learning, whole-school intercultural education, and parent engagement, we help non-Chinese students grow in Chinese language confidence, support students to build friendships across cultural differences, and strengthen connection between families and schools.

Role : Assistant Programme Officer
Start Date : Mid-July 2026 Employment
Period: One year
Salary: HK$5,500-HK$6,150 per month, depending on experience Pro-rated from a full-time equivalent salary of up to HK$20,500/month at 0.3 FTE.
Mode of Work: Hybrid, with usually at least one in-person team / programme day per week

We are looking for an Assistant Programme Officer to join our small but growing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys people, details, creativity, and meaningful community work. You will help programmes run smoothly, prepare learning materials, coordinate volunteers and tutors, communicate with schools and families, and support activities that help children feel more confident, connected, and included.

Because we are a small team, you will not be hidden in the background. Your work will matter. You will see how ideas become programmes, how relationships with schools grow, and how practical behind-the-scenes support can make a real difference for students and families.

What You’ll Be Doing
You may help with:
● preparing learning materials, workshop resources, and activity supplies
● supporting school-based programme sessions and community activities
● coordinating volunteers, tutors, schedules, reminders, and logistics
● communicating with schools, families, volunteers, and partners
● keeping attendance, feedback, records, and programme information organised
● supporting parent engagement and intercultural learning activities
● helping the team improve simple systems as the organisation grows

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is creative, compassionate, organised, and ready to learn. You should enjoy working with people, be willing to take initiative, and care about building a more inclusive Hong Kong.

You should have:
● excellent written and spoken English and Cantonese
● clear, warm, and professional communication
● strong attention to detail and follow-through
● openness to CantoGather’s Christian values and mission of neighbourly love
● commitment to contributing to this one-year project

An education or linguistics background is a strong advantage. Skills in Nepali, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Canva, Adobe, Excel, or other useful tools are also welcomed.

You may be a good fit if you reflect our We CARE culture: Creative & Curious, Authentic & Aware, Resilient & Responsible, and Energetic & Engaging.
