At ConnectedGroup, we are supporting an international non-profit organization dedicated to conservation and welfare, in the search for their Head of Finance (Control and Reporting).

Reporting into senior leadership and leading a team, the Head of Finance will be responsible to oversee financial control, reporting, and compliance across the organisation, and provide functional support to finance colleagues in the region.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Managing statutory reporting, audits, and compliance with accounting standards and donor requirements.
  • Leading month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and balance sheet governance.
  • Overseeing accounting operations, accounts payable, treasury, and cash management, while maintaining strong banking relationships.
  • Establishing and strengthening internal controls across procurement, inventory, donor funds, and treasury.
  • Driving process improvements, automation, and better use of finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Mentoring and developing a high-performing team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partnering with FP&A, programme, operations, and compliance teams to ensure transparency and alignment.
 
Requirements:
 
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, HKICPA or equivalent) with a degree in accounting, finance, or related disciplines.
  • Significant experience in financial control, statutory reporting, audit, treasury, and accounting operations, ideally in multi-entity or international organisations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with IFRS exposure desirable.
  • Proven track record in leading audits, preparing financial statements, and improving processes and controls.
  • Hands-on skills in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sun Accounting) and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams, with the ability to communicate clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a lean NGO environment.
  • Experience in donor-funded or NGO settings, and across Hong Kong, Mainland China, or southeast asian countries, would be beneficial.
  • Must have eligibility to live and work in Hong Kong. 
  • Salary budget HKD45,000 - HKD55,000.
