Splash Foundation is a Hong Kong based charity creating opportunities for disadvantaged communities to experience the transformative impact of learning to swim and to enjoy lifelong access to the water. Since 2015, we have taught over 12,000 adults and kids how to swim with the goal of reaching 25,000 by 2030.
We are seeking a Managing Director to lead our Singapore entity, Splash Swimming Ltd. Reporting to the Hong Kong CEO, this role is for someone who thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment to spearhead our expansion and growth in Singapore.
Role Overview
As the Managing Director, you are the entrepreneurial engine behind Splash Swimming. Your goal is to build the profile, secure funding, and navigate the local landscape for Splash Swimming. While you hold ultimate accountability for the organization’s success, you operate in a high-trust partnership with the Hong Kong CEO of Splash Foundation and a Singapore based Senior Coach and Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
● Strategy: Lead the strategic roll out of Splash Swimming, co-developing the expansion and delivery roadmap with the Senior Coach and Finance Manager to ensure our programme targets are ambitious yet operationally sound.
● Operationally Strong: Work closely with the Hong Kong and Singapore teams to learn the existing Hong Kong model, and build the processes and framework required for sustainable growth in Singapore.
● Partnerships: Build a robust ecosystem in which Splash Swimming can expand and thrive, including high-level partnerships with government stakeholders, pool venues, charity partners, volunteers, and donors.
● Building a team: Establish strong communication channels and work collaboratively with Singapore Board members, the Senior Coach and Finance Manager, and volunteers, ensuring the entire team is well informed, operating efficiently and aligned with the global mission of Splash Foundation.
● Fundraising & Sustainability: Design and execute a local fundraising strategy which includes identifying and cultivating grant opportunities, building fundraising events and soliciting individual and corporate donor
Skills & Experience
● A self-starter with a hands-on approach, demonstrating the drive and determination to roll up your sleeves and get things done across all levels of Splash Swimming.
● 8-10+ years of management experience (NGO, social impact or general management)
● Proven experience in business development or high-level fundraising
● Swimming or sport coaching background a plus
● Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire diverse groups of people.
● Willingness to attend events or programmes at non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends) as required.
● Excellent written and verbal English skills
● Eligible to work in Singapore
