Established in 2001, Youth Diabetes Action (YDA) is a dedicated non-profit organisation committed to enhancing the lives of children and adolescents with diabetes and their families in Hong Kong. Our mission is to ensure that no child is held back by diabetes through providing financial, emotional, and educational support.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and passionate Project Manager to lead our project team. The successful candidate will oversee core support programmes, manage signature events such as our annual diabetes camp, and assist in fundraising and marketing initiatives to expand our reach and impact. We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager to lead our project team and ensure the smooth execution of our core mission. This is a 2-year renewable contract role, with the potential for conversion to a permanent position subject to performance and funding availability.
Responsibilities:
· Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of staff members, providing guidance and coaching to ensure high-quality service delivery and efficient operations.
· Project Management:
Plan, execute, and evaluate core projects and other educational programmes, which create an impact on the lives of people with diabetes.
· Budgeting & Reporting:
Monitor and manage project progress and budgets with high precision; prepare progress reports for the management and donors to ensure transparency and project impact.
· Event Coordination
: Lead the planning and onsite management of signature activities such as Annual Diabetes Camp, ensuring participant safety (e.g., blood glucose monitoring protocols) and a positive experience
for members.
· Cross-team Collaboration:
Collaborate on fundraising and marketing campaigns and public awareness initiatives to promote YDA’s services and advocate for better diabetes technology access (e.g. CGMs and insulin pumps).
· Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with medical professionals and community partners to enhance support networks.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in social science, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the NGO or social service sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Cantonese is essential.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing.
